ABSTRACT: The essence of material genetic engineering is data and its application. Materials researchers and relevant stakeholders through a variety of ways to obtain all kind of messages, including documents, images, data and so on, which forms a materials database and is used by means of machine learning and so on. We pay attention to the sources, collection and processing methods of these messages. However, these data accuracy and the consistence in different database are also important for more valid application of these messages. How to assess the quality of these data? Metrological technology is perhaps one way of technical means to solve these problems. This presentation will introduce the international material metrology planning on the material big data, and the data traceability principles and ways of material multi-parameter characterization. Also introduces how to control the data quality entering the database by uncertainty analysis [1], and how to evaluate multi-parameter data quality of the same material in different databases [2].
