Construction of the CSTM Material Data Standard System

Abstract: Materials are the cornerstone of the new round of technological innovation and industrial revolution. With the rapid development of technologies such as cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence, materials science has entered the fourth paradigm. New materials development based on data-driven technique has become normal,which strongly depends on the collaborative development of data infrastructure and artificial intelligence, including data collection, data governance, data indicators, data sharing and data mining. Standardization is the effect method to bridge the gap among integrating Digital Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Materials Science, which helps material data efficiently convert from raw data to data resources and ultimately data products. Standardization Committee of Chinese Society for Testing and Materials (CSTM) has established a material data standardization system (MDSS) from three dimensions: data, materials, and digital technology. MDSS is intended to provide standards, regulations, protocols and mechanism for scientific data, production process data, service data, management data, trade data, etc. , which will help material data comply with FAIR principles, and maximize the value throughout the entire lifecycle of materials.
